![]() We're hoping to recruit some really talented artists ( modelers, texturers, animators) from our playerbase to help us polish and extend the mod in the future. But other than that it's fully functional and playable. Sounds are placeholders and their configuration is far from perfect Majority of the island and some other assets are not up to Arma 3 standards Here a quick list of what you can find in this first release:Ĥ factions (UK, GER, US, JAP) including many uniform variants and vestsīolt action system - you can either use manual bolting module (bolt cycling on clicking) or stick to the default system which triggers bolt operation upon releasing the mouse buttonĪ module that limits the usage of the items stored in the backpack The assets, infact, are not limited to the pacific theatre, British and Germans soldiers that fought on the western front are included in this first package. Team I'm releasing our first public alpha, featuring the assault on Japanese-held Betio island by the USMC. Hereby, on the 73rd anniversary of Operation Galvanic, in the name of Faces of War Dev. But now i need some campaigns/scenarios that Press J to jump to the feed. That's not to completely write off FOW though, particularly if Pacific theatre interests you.Lacking manpower even after merging with Hell in The Pacific, we decided for a "DLC-like" thematic release schedule with every release focusing on a certain Operation. I'm been itching to get a WW II era campaign, or scenario in Arma 3, and Faces of War offers the era. TFAR is natively compatible ACE is mostly natively compatible, the only issues I've found is that IFA medics aren't ACE medics by default, and the IFA mortars aren't usable with ACE running since they have two overlapping ACE options that prevents you putting a round in the tube.Īnyway, we've been using IFA among other things for several weeks now and it's worked well for us. Gear: IFA textures are a bit crap so FOW kind of wins, but as with the vehicles, there are options on the workshop (notably GEIST) that improves things very significantly. Six weeks into Russias invasion of Ukraine, Moscow faces renewed global outrage. ![]() FOW had issues with weird animations (the K98 reloaded with the hand movement animation from a Katiba or something), IFA doesn't have great textures, but IFA won this one for me. This has been CNBCs live blog covering updates on the war in Ukraine. This modification will cover years of 1942 - 1945 and will bring historical accurate content and gameplay mechanics to the ArmA 3 Community. ![]() ![]() IFA had what I expected plus a bunch of more unusual things and oddities. Faces of War aims to bring the Allies and Axis forces into ArmA 3. Weapons: FOW had about what I expected but not much more. Damage model is mostly OK but German tanks are pretty overpowered compared to everything else, which I suppose is realistic but needs to be managed from a mission design perspective. IFA has more variety but some of the quality particularly with regard to textures is dodgy, though there are addon mods on the workshop that fix a lot of this. Didn't test enough to comment on damage models. Vehicles: FOW doesn't have the best variety but the quality is pretty good for what they do have. Personally would like some Japanese in IFA but otherwise I've never found it lacking. Neaville and Staszow spring to mind.įactions: FOW has US, UK, Germany, and some Japanese. Some are very obviously unfinished, some are so small that they're basically useless, but there are a few gems in there. IFA has a whole bunch, but the quality is all over the shop. Terrains: FOW only has three, all Pacific themed. It's also about three months since I looked at FOW so things may have changed. Ultimately I went for IFA but it's not quite as simple as saying IFA is better as it depends what you're after and which bits are more important to you (and you can always use both, though you'll get a lot of duplicates). I looked at both quite a bit when I was putting together a WW2 modset for my group.
